The Ashes 4th Test England vs Australia Day 1 Live Score: England began the second session emphatically with Mark Wood dismissing the dangerous looking Steve Smith for 41 shortly after lunch. In the first 120 minutes of play on Day 1, Australia had scored 107 runs for the loss of two wickets in what turned out to be a batting friendly session. Under overcast skies with chances of rain later in the day, England captain Ben Stokes won the toss once again and chose to bowl against Pat Cummins and his Australian unit. The decision worked well for England early as Stuart Broad removed Usman Khawaja inside 5 overs but they had to wait another nine over for their second breakthrough, which came in the form of David Warner.
